About the Role:
Carry out regulatory functions of Council, including detection, investigation and enforcement of:
Companion Animals,
Littering
Parking enforcement
Footpath Licences
School crossing supervision
Illegal dumping
Stock control and impounding of stock and articles
Issuing of Penalty Notices as required in accordance with Council's Policies and Procedures.
Contribute to the development and delivery of services including educational programs.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Council's administrative systems.
Maintain effective evidentiary records in accordance with Council and Policies and Procedures.
Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.
Contribute to the performance of Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actions.
Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent qualification or relevant experience or experience in policing and enforcing legislation.
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of livestock control and management.
Proven ability to effectively observe, deduce and interpret situations and implement conflict resolution principles quickly and efficiently.
Well developed written and oral communication skills.
Proven ability to effectively communicate to the public the relevant rules/regulations pertaining to the functions of the position.
Demonstrated solid working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office products.
Proven ability to work in a diverse team and help others within the section as required.
Ability and willingness to work weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency call-outs when required.
Desirable criteria:
Proven ability and desire to undertake further industry training.
White Card - General Induction for Construction Work in NSW.
Current NSW Class C Driver's License.
