You will support and develop the skills and potential of your team and contribute to the progression of the regional business plan and achievement of strategic goals.The Ranger in Charge is responsible for a small team of dedicated individuals who focus on managing a diverse range of reserves in the region, from Swansea to Marion Bay and Whiteford to Nugent.You will work with a range of stakeholders and be embedded in the community, overseeing the management of coastal, off-shore island, forested, and marine reserves, including Maria Island National Park and the Darlington Convict World Heritage Area.The Triabunna-Maria Field Centre features awe-inspiring natural beauty, including a World Heritage listed Convict Site, a range of native species, unique cultural heritage, pristine beaches, and clear waters supporting marine reserves teeming with biodiversity.In this position, you can contribute to projects supporting natural and cultural values and pursue your professional goals while enjoying recreation and adventure.About usThe Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) is committed to delivering a sustainable Tasmania where our natural resources, cultural values, and environment are recognised and used sustainably to support future prosperity.
