An opportunity to work with a small and dedicated team to maintain, protect and conserve the built assets, and natural and cultural values, managed by Parks Victoria.An opportunity to develop skills in handling small plant and equipment, 4WD, boating and emergency incident response.The role is mostly field based within the environment of the beautiful Croajingolong National Park.The position is based in the remote and beautiful township of Mallacoota, East Gippsland.About the role The Ranger (Field Services) will deliver in park services as directed by the Manager to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. The position will be accountable for the delivery of on-the-ground works including, but not limited to, maintenance of assets, infrastructure, and facilities; and the field delivery of environmental projects. The Ranger (Field Services) will undertake Fire and Emergency response activities in accordance with requirements and level of training. The Ranger (Field Services) will be accountable for personal performance and demonstrate a strong personal work ethic. The position will actively participate in a team environment and ensure that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success. The Ranger (Field Services) will be adaptable and flexible to on-the-ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times.
We're looking for someone with: Certificate or Diploma in Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field (highly desirable).Coxswains 1NC certification or boat operating experience (desirable).Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, small equipment, and tools (essential).Demonstrated skills in the maintenance and construction of a range of park facilities, including signs, campgrounds, fences, and walking tracks (highly desirable).Your application will need to include: A Current ResumeIf this sounds like you, then we would like to hear from you.
