The company is a stable and well-established property company with an extensive portfolio including real estate investment, property development, and property management. They are conveniently located within the Adelaide CBD. Please note that this role entails full 5 days in the office and working hours are 9am to 5.30pm.
About the Job The Financial Controller is responsible for undertaking all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. You will be a critical member of the Executive Team and be involved in the strategic planning and driving improvements through the financial operations of the company's diverse operations by leading, inspiring, and motivating the financial team.
Key Responsibilities Manage all financial operations across all divisions of the business. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. Prepare and analyse timely monthly financial statements. Report to Chairman and Board on all financial matters. Develop and implement financial improvement plans across the accounts team. Support month-end and year-end close process. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. About the Manager / Team This role reports into the Chairman. In turn, you will manage a team of 7 direct reports in the accounting department.
Skills & Requirements for the Job To succeed in this role you should possess a Degree in Accounting with a CPA, CA, or CMA. You must come with a proven track record of being a Financial Controller in another organisation, with more than 10 years of accounting and finance experience since graduation. The ideal incumbent should have thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, good experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process, as well as an understanding of property development and associated financial reporting, plus banking industry and guidelines.
