Randstad Canberra has partnered exclusively with a reputable commercial builder specialising in education, healthcare, civil, and sustainable projects.
We're seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to drive local project wins and contribute to their national growth.

About the Role:

Estimate and Tender: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of commercial design and build projects, ensuring timely submission of competitive tenders.
Project Scope & Design: Collaborate with clients and project teams to understand project requirements, analyse specifications, and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
Value Engineering: Identify cost optimisation opportunities, explore alternative materials and methods, and contribute to achieving budget targets.
Market Research: Stay informed about current market trends, pricing fluctuations, and relevant industry regulations.
Tender Strategy: Develop winning tender strategies, negotiate contract terms, and support the commercial business unit in securing new and exciting projects.
Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports on project costings, risk assessments, and budget performance.
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience in commercial design and build project estimation, with a demonstrated portfolio of successfully tendered Government projects (ideally valued up to $20 million).
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and current industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Proficiency in Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam or Jobpac.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Experience working on Government School and Healthcare Projects.
