Assistant Director - Capability Coordination One of our Federal Government clients is seeking qualified candidates with experience in the Federal Government for an immediate opportunity starting in early January 2024. As an Assistant Director (EL1 level), you will be a self-motivated professional, ready to contribute your skills and expertise to a client who values dedication and hard work. You will undertake complex research and analysis to provide evidence-based recommendations. You will prepare complex correspondence and documentation. You will develop and implement processes, procedures, and tools that support the delivery of high-quality policy advice and provide advice on highly complex and sensitive policy matters.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and manage complex programs of work, ensuring effective coordination, research, stakeholder engagement, and high-level communication skills. Develop, review, and coordinate strategic documents for the branch, including providing input into strategy, briefings, and discussion papers. Proactively identify and highlight risks, opportunities, and strategic considerations. Provide strategic oversight and analysis of policy, legislative, and regulatory changes affecting the Branch, ensuring awareness and alignment across the department. Represent the Branch in key strategic forums and committees, contributing to discussions and decision-making. Foster and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including the branch line areas. Manage key corporate processes such as secretariat processes and other budget/finance and coordination/administration activities. Highly developed written and verbal communication, research, and analysis skills, including the ability to draft a range of documentation. Demonstrated ability to achieve results and meet tight deadlines. Excellent leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to establish high-performing teams. Proven ability to build strong working relationships across the department and to work collaboratively with key stakeholders. Strong knowledge of the APS operational environment, or ability to learn quickly. Experience in and knowledge of Cabinet and Budget processes is highly desirable. Clearance: Active NV1
