The Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation (RAMJO) comprises the following 11 Councils: Albury City, Berrigan Shire, Carrathool Shire, Edward River, Federation Shire, Griffith City, Hay Shire, Leeton Shire, Murray River, Murrumbidgee Shire and Narrandera Shire.
NSW Joint Organisations operate to fulfil three primary roles, as follows: Regional strategic planning and priority setting Advocacy and leadership Intergovernmental cooperation.
Through its strong collaborative network, RAMJO works to create a thriving region abundant in sustainable communities via collaborating effectively through strategic planning, priority setting, advocating, engaging with governments and key stakeholders to ensure the long-term sustainability, well-being and liveability of the region's communities.
About the role This career defining and dynamic role's primary function is to build on the successes of RAMJO's Regional Energy Strategy with clear and demonstrated outcomes, while incorporating new goals and focus areas as identified by our member councils.
The role will also include the management and coordination of the Joint Organisation Net Zero Acceleration (JONZA) program through collaboration with other Joint Organisations across the state to deliver its key objectives.
The successful applicant will possess excellent relationship building skills and will liaise with RAMJO member councils and associate members, key stakeholders, subject matter experts, consultants and state agency partners on advancing RAMJO's Regional Energy Strategy and the JONZA program.
Experience in managing competing priorities, working within local government (particularly in a rural or regional setting) and demonstrating flexibility to meet changing needs will be highly regarded.
This is a full-time contracted position with the ability to negotiate flexible working hours and working location anywhere within the beautiful RAMJO region, including at our head office in Albury.
Qualifications in project management and/or extensive relevant experience Demonstrated achievement in delivering outcomes from project management, including the ability to develop and implement management plans High level stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills Creative and analytical problem-solving skills including ability to research and analyse complex issues, strong initiative and judgement to formulate and coordinate responses and capability for the interpretation and application of large volumes of information.
Self-motivated, outcomes focused and the ability to work under pressure Excellent oral and written communication skills, including excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills High level of initiative and able to work independently without direct supervision Current Class C Drivers license Local Government experience in NSW or demonstrable knowledge of Local Government An interest in and/or experience in Energy and Net Zero approaches Experience in procurement management practices To apply Please provide a recent resume and a brief cover letter , outlining your suitability for the role and addressing the essential and desirable criteria points, as outlined in this advertisement.
