About The Role As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the RSQE Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering a safety culture across all CMET operations and maintenance activities.
This full-time role requires someone based in the ACT region, as the position is onsite at our Mitchell depot.
Primary Responsibilities Include: Influencing and engaging senior management and all employees to enhance the safety culture.
Leading and managing the development, implementation, and ongoing review of RSQE strategies, policies, procedures, and plans.
Overseeing and ensuring the consistency and continuous improvement of all RSQE systems and practices.
Ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory authorities, including quality and environmental ISO requirements, and maintaining effective engagement with the rail safety regulator, the utilities regulator, and the ACT Government.
Conducting internal audits and measuring safety performance.
Ensuring all rail safety risks across the business are identified, incorporated into safety risk registers, and appropriately controlled.
Managing rail safety reporting functions, including monthly operational and Board reporting.
Building and driving productive, collaborative, and cooperative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements: Must have experience in the rail or light rail industry.
Must have competency in compliance and training.
Must have experience working with and complying with ONRSR requirements.
Holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline.
Has extensive experience in a senior safety role.
Possesses strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Has outstanding interpersonal skills.
Can lead high-level investigations involving multiple parties.
Has proven experience in auditing, identifying and reporting non-conformances.
Is ICAM trained, a qualified Lead Auditor, and holds a Construction White Card.
Must have or be willing to undergo a Rail Safety Medical Category 1 Assessment.
