About the Division / Team Our Hunter Valley network primarily services the Hunter Valley coal chain – the world's largest thermal coal export operation – by providing an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between mines and the Port of Newcastle. We manage the movement of around 250 trains per day on our network. Around half of these being coal trains and the other half comprised of passenger services, as well as grain, general intermodal, and other bulk freight trains. We're searching for a highly motivated Rail Infrastructure Maintainer to join our team in Muswellbrook. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll play a vital role in keeping Australia's rail network safe and efficient. What you'll do: Maintain and upgrade our rail infrastructure through planned maintenance, repairs, and minor construction projects. Operate a range of heavy machinery to perform tasks like track renewal, ballast cleaning, and equipment operation. Conduct visual inspections and analyse data to identify potential issues. Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and customers to ensure a smooth operation. Utilise technology like computers, tablets, and ARTC software to complete tasks and documentation. Prioritise safety by identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
