The Role
The ABC is looking for an accomplished program maker to produce and present live local radio programs and multiplatform digital content for ABC Northern Tasmania that aligns with the ABC's Audience First strategy.
Under the direction of the Northern Tasmania Local Editor and in collaboration with colleagues, create content for broadcast and digital platforms to engage local and national audiences.
The Job
Provide in-studio radio production support and manage talk-back callers and guests.
Present live local programs and emergency broadcasts.
Contribute to the implementation of emergency coverage plans and communicate with relevant stakeholders as required.
Create local content that can be shared with other teams across the ABC.
Cross promote other ABC content to increase audience engagement.
Generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.
About You
You'll have: Proficient program making skills with a proven ability to develop and make original and engaging audio and cross-platform content for audiences on radio and audio-on-demand platforms.
Editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise sound judgement.
A demonstrated and ongoing interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect Australia's diversity.
A proven ability to source and maintain contacts across the Northern Tasmanian and broader Australian communities.
