Townsville University Hospital, located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.
Townsville Hospital and Health Service is currently seeking a Radiation Therapist - Oncology to join their team within the Townsville Cancer Centre in Townsville University Hospital on a permanent full-time basis.

About your opportunity: Permanent full-time / Three (3) positions available The Radiation Therapist will provide radiation therapy services within a diverse team of Radiation Therapists with various skills and abilities to oncology patients whilst working as a member of a team in the following clinical areas:
Radiation Therapy Treatment UnitRadiation Therapy Planning UnitThe ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Clinical expertise: Proven knowledge of radiation therapy principles and procedures and treatment planning principles.Team Participation/Communication: Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.Clinical Ability: Proven knowledge and ability to apply radiation therapy treatment and planning principles.Leadership: Demonstrated ability or ability to acquire the skill to provide guidance to less experienced staff members and education to students.What the Townsville Hospital and Health Service has to offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $128,706 p.a.
comprising:Salary range of $2941.70 to $4323.80 p.f.
(Hp3)Annual leave with 17.5% loading12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.Other employment benefits may include: professional development, salary sacrificing options, shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.
Bachelor of Applied Science (Radiation Therapy) or recognised equivalent from a recognised Tertiary Institution.Membership with the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT).Current registration or eligible for registration in by AHPRA.Current or eligible for radiation use licence in Queensland.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
