About the role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Office Manager with a strong accounting/bookkeeping background to join the team at R J Cornish & Co Pty Ltd in Cobram, Victoria. As the Office Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the office. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing all accounting and administrative functions, supporting the business and its employees in achieving their goals.
What you'll be doing includes: Maintain company accounts including recording revenue and some of the major expenses Manage and oversee all administrative procedures and office operations Prepare and manage annual cash flow budgets, prepare profit and loss reports and liaising with external accountants who visit twice a year Submitting ATO Business Activity Statements and State Payroll Tax returns Ensure the company is meeting legislative requirements in relation to payroll, superannuation, PAYG taxation including provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 and Horticulture Award 2020. During January, February, March and April prepare daily fruit harvest production and sales records During July to December prepare weekly citrus production and sales records Implement and maintain efficient filing, recordkeeping, and document management systems Manage Labour Hire Contracts and all payments to Labour Hire Providers Process the staff payroll Prepare Workcover remuneration confirmation and projections Manage Workcover program for any injured workers Manage company insurance program Act as chairperson of the Occupational Health & Safety Committee Negotiate electricity supply contracts Administer company security system (distribution of keys, locks etc) Manage company communication accounts (fixed line, mobile and internet) Maintain company computer system and website Perform the tasks of the other office employee in their absence including creditor payments and weekly payroll functions for permanent and casual workers What we're looking for: Substantial experience as an Office Manager with extensive accounting background Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and clients Proficiency in the use of office software, including Microsoft Office suite and MYOB Accounting Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities Willingness to work extended hours and days during the busy harvest period of mid-January to mid-April.
