Agilent's Marketing and Research & Development centre for Optical Spectroscopy (Atomic and Molecular) Instrumentation in Mulgrave, Victoria is currently seeking a Research Engineer to join the Mulgrave R&D team made up of electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, optical engineers, and scientists.
As a senior R&D Electronics Engineer, you will provide electronics engineering expertise for the design and development of new innovative spectroscopy products. You will also take a key role in resolving technical problems with existing product lines, provide technical advice on product quality, vendor changes and validation programs. Throughout development projects, you will also have a hands-on approach to building and testing prototypes, as well as process development.
As a senior electronics engineer, you will have the ability to innovate independently and work with other engineers to develop ideas into detailed designs. This will be supported by designing, calculations and analysis, measurement and testing, documentation, and reporting to demonstrate compliance with requirements. You will also identify risks (both technical and commercial), and work within the project teams and across the organization to mitigate them.
As a senior member of the R&D organization, you will work with R&D managers to prioritize workloads across projects, identify skills gaps within the team, and effectively communicate proposed strategies to move forward. You will also use your technical expertise to guide and mentor the engineering team. You will also collaboratively work with the other functions (other R&D teams, marketing, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to deliver technical solutions across the business.
QualificationsTo be successful in the role you will need: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
Typically, at least 8+ years relevant experience for entry to this level.
Technical Expertise: Design electrical circuits for instrumentation using computer aided engineering and design software.Provide initial production support after new product release.Design microprocessor-based circuits using embedded micro controllers.Design motor controls speed and position control systems.Design high accuracy temperature control systems.Digital to Analog and Analog to Digital conversion techniques.Schematic capture, PCB layout, and PLD/CPLD/FPGA design.Develop firmware in C, C++ and assembler.Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule.
