Job Description Summary The Record to Report (R2R) Tax Reporting Lead is a leadership position responsible for local accounting issues including: technical accounting, month-end closings/review, financial report, tax accounting and reporting, balance sheet review/reconciliations and liaison with internal auditors, external auditors, and Financial Controls and Compliance, IT and Master Data.
Job Description Key responsibilities: Lead record to report processes, including tax accounting and reporting in Australia and New Zealand.Prepare cash flow forecast, budget submissions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.Ensure adherence to Novartis Financial Control Manual and coordinate remediation activities.Manage onshore and offshore R2R team, ensuring productivity, quality, and customer service standards.Collaborate with stakeholders, internal and external, for communication and alignment.Ensure all R2R processes, procedures and policies are clearly defined, fully documented, and in line with global standards.Cultivate strong control environment, follow up on audit issues, and implement correcting measures.Responsible for tax accounting and reporting matters such as preparation of Financial Consolidation and Reporting System (FCRS) Tax forms, quarterly tax provision posting, true-up entries and balance sheet reconciliation (BSR).Support the local tax team in their preparation of Annual Income Tax Packages (including accompanying disclosures), consolidation for the AU group tax income return and being responsible for FBT return.Responsible for documenting, communicating and coordinating Technical Accounting matters both with the regional FRA Technical Accounting team and commercial organisations (country CFOs), and with partners outside the commercial organisation including other Novartis Business Units, Financial Service Centres, Novartis Corporate Center (NOCC), Financial Controls and Compliance (FC&C) and external auditor.Minimum requirements: University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance/ MBA desirable.Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent.A minimum of 7 years experience in accounting, tax accounting, and financial reporting.Experience with tax operations and have sound knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting and financial reporting requirements.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with stakeholders.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of driving high performance.Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).Microsoft Excel - intermediate/advanced Excel skillset.Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.
