This project will generate enough renewable energy to power over 700,000 households, avoiding nearly 3 million tons of CO2 emissions, while also providing significant economic benefits across the Goondiwindi, Southern Downs, and Toowoomba Regional Council areas.
About the Role As part of the Australian region service team, the Queensland Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in managing a team of service technicians to ensure timely and high-quality completion of service activities. You will lead and support your team, regularly engaging with them across various service points to ensure excellence in execution. The role will be based out on Macintyre Wind Farm (near Warwick, QLD) for around 2-3 days a week and then working remotely (or Brisbane office if preferred). Accommodation, meals, expenses etc will be provided when on site.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor and understand KPIs for the service business within your teams. Manage site teams to ensure safe, effective work, meeting required standards, and reviewing performance. Control costs and manage stock levels. Recruit, develop, and train Service Technicians to maintain a high-performing team. Ensure HSE compliance within your service area, implementing both internal and external regulations. Oversee the operational performance of your service area by ensuring turbine availability. Use operational data to monitor team and wind farm performance. Maintain quality standards at all times. Facilitate a smooth handover from Project Management to Service after energization. Plan for new service points/activities in response to growth or business development needs. Oversee site safety auditing and reporting. Manage customer operational topics and address complaints regarding Service Technician performance and work quality. Review and ensure timely submission of site reports, including Maintenance, Availability, HSE, and timekeeping. Perform additional tasks related to service operations as needed. Career/Job Experience: Experience in the wind industry or a similar sector. Experience in working within matrix organizations. Proven experience in managing remote, field-based teams. Strong leadership experience. Qualifications and Personal Profile: Excellent English language skills. Knowledge of country-specific laws and regulations. Valid Driver's License. Experience in managing complex business operations. Systematic working approach with strong problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
