Do you have an enthusiasm for working outdoors and a passion for forests? As our Resource Assessment Officer, you will lead and implement a native forest resource inventory project from Cape York to Rockhampton.
You will provide day-to-day technical expertise to oversee the inventory measurement program, working in remote areas with lots of travel as part of the role.
As our Resource Assessment Officer, you will lead the implementation of a forest resource inventory project across Cape York, North Queensland, and Central Queensland.
You will lead a team of people and provide technical expertise, training, and guidance in relation to native forest inventory, including species and product identification according to departmental and Forestry guidelines and procedures. You will provide day-to-day oversight and quality audit checks of the inventory measurement program, including implementation of safety and remote working conditions.
You will be required to assist with the inventory planning processes and include the use of geographic information systems and other operational information and technology systems to interpret, analyze, and manage the storage of spatial and other operational and planning data.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a passion for working outdoors and be able to be away from home for extended periods of time. You will need to have a current remote working first aid certificate and a current C class manual driver's license.
