The Queensland Government Accommodation Office (QGAO) centrally manages the largest office property portfolio in Queensland, with approximately 1 million square metres of office space, accommodating more than 60,000 public servants and a broad range of property assets including cyclone shelters, parks, bridges and heritage buildings.
The purpose of this position is, as part of a project team, to develop and manage projects within the Department's office and property portfolio. The position is responsible for the direction and coordination to ensure that activity related to asset, energy and capital works project management is undertaken in an ecologically sustainable manner that enhances the value and utilisation of the portfolio.
What You Will Be Doing Leading a project team and managing allocated resources, while providing independent advice to Government agencies for the initiation of whole-of-Government programs for the delivery of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Acting as project owner during the planning and construction phases of EV charging infrastructure developments and leading multi-disciplinary project groups responsible for the delivery of projects and programs. Managing the initiation, planning, and delivery of EV charging infrastructure in special purpose Government assets other than normal office and residential accommodation. Providing strategic direction on the procurement and ongoing management of EV charging infrastructure. Providing expert advice to the department's executive in relation to the EV charging infrastructure projects and program. Providing key financial functions and advice for QGAO EV charging infrastructure projects and programs including setting budgets; providing financial submissions and approvals; forecasting and monitoring of cashflows and progress claims; approving invoices within delegations; and financial reporting. Developing, implementing and reviewing EV guidelines, business rules, strategies and procedures for the cost-effective procurement and delivery of EV charging infrastructure. Developing, implementing and reviewing works programs to enhance the effectiveness of the Department's office property portfolio. Conducting feasibility studies and developing business cases to ensure the operating and business viability of special projects, as well as determine the user requirements for proposed developments. Establishing best practice for the design, development and procurement of environmentally sustainable EV infrastructure in government assets. Consulting and coordinating with other government agencies, local governments, industry representatives, other stakeholders and the community to develop networks and ensure that project outcomes are met. Representing the Department at senior level intra- and inter-departmental meetings and at external forums. Preparing written correspondence, executive submissions and briefing notes. You build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by communicating in a way that is appropriate for the situation, promoting trust, respect and integrity. You manage conflict and negotiate outcomes without compromising relationships, managing challenging stakeholders with diplomacy and tact. Demonstrated program management experience in complex and diverse organisations. Proven experience, interest or passion for electric vehicle technology and/or environmentally sustainable buildings.
