About the role
As a Principal Lawyer, you'll engage with complex legal matters in areas such as succession law, property law, equity and trusts, and elder and disability law. You will work closely with customers, external lawyers, and organisations, demonstrating professionalism, legal expertise, and a commitment to exceptional service. This role involves representing the QPT in courts and tribunals across Queensland, supervising other lawyers and paralegals as required, and providing legal advice ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, public sector standards and Office policies.

You possess a strong foundation in legal practices with a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and customer-oriented legal services. Your experience in complex legal environments will be crucial in providing effective representation and advice. You are an excellent communicator, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.

Proficiency in property law, succession law, elder/disability law, equity and trusts, and litigation across state and federal jurisdictions Ability to effectively engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment in all legal matters Commitment to delivering superior legal services with a customer-focused approach, ensuring timely and effective resolution of legal issues Ability to thrive in a dynamic legal environment, handling complex and diverse cases with innovative solutions A degree in Law or equivalent, with admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland Eligibility for a current practicing certificate and entry in the High Court Register of Practitioners What we offer
