The role includes independent and collaborative work to support the lawyers of the Commission. You will provide high quality support in administrative, regulatory and other legal matters, with key responsibilities that require the ability to: Provide paralegal support to lawyers and other staff within the Commission as directed, including compiling and preparing documents including briefs, affidavits, and correspondence. File and serve legal documents and providing support with preparation for hearings. Conduct legal research and draft memorandum of results from legal research. Provide paralegal and administrative support in relation to cost recovery matters. Record and maintain the Commission's disciplinary register and case knowledge bank. Liaise with other regulators and government agencies in relation to investigation information sharing as required. Draft routine court and tribunal documentation. Arrange meetings, appointments, conferences, and interviews as required. Maintain bring-up systems and any other systems that may assist legal staff in their day-to-day operations. Liaise as required with complainants, counsel, legal practitioners, and witnesses. Undertake administrative tasks and other duties as directed. Support project planning and implement project activities as directed. Autonomously work on assigned activities to meet the quality and timeframes agreed with the team. Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of office systems, precedents, and procedures. Develop and maintain communications and collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Project a professional image always and display high levels of tact, confidentiality, and discretion. Be flexible and willing to complete other duties as directed by the Commissioner and senior members of the Commission from time to time. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
