As an Operational Policy Officer, your purpose will be to assess proposals to introduce new gambling products and services to Queenslanders, having regard to the government's gambling harm minimisation policy agenda and potential impact on the community. You will be involved in analysing new gaming concepts and schemes, having regard to the government's priorities and commitments, legislation and policy. You will engage with key stakeholders and refer to evidence-based research to ensure informed decisions that focus on public interest. You will work with a dynamic team, assessing a variety of proposals, aiming to deliver a high standard of regulation of Queensland's gaming industry.
You will need to have strong communication, organisation and written skills, work well within a team environment and be focused on delivering outcomes in support of government's priorities and commitments.
The ideal candidate will have: Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to deliver them within established timeframes, and adjust quickly as circumstances change. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend legislation, regulatory policy and research material. Strong written communication skills including preparing memorandums and written correspondence. Demonstrated ability to analyse and evaluate information, policies and procedures within the regulatory environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain cooperative working relationships with stakeholders.
