About the role
The Director of Clinical Training (DCT) reports to the Director of Medical Administration (DMA) and is responsible for ensuring that Medical Education services provided for prevocational doctors at The Prince Charles Hospital meet Best Practice and are of the highest professional, ethical and educational standards.
The DCT works collaboratively with the Medical Education Unit, Medical Workforce and Clinical Supervisors to ensure that prevocational medical officers are provided with a high standard of orientation, supervision, teaching, assessment and feedback in each clinical unit.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Lead and/or participate in programs to develop teaching and clinical supervision skills to support the continuity of effective training and teaching of medical or multidisciplinary staff. Contribute to professional education and training programs and ensure that these standards are maintained through continuing professional development. Act as an advocate for junior doctors and provide appropriate management of junior doctor issues and the development and monitoring of plans to address performance and clinical competence. Provide oversight of accreditation activities in liaison with Queensland Prevocational Medical Accreditation or other relevant authority to develop and maintain accredited prevocational training positions.
