Your Contribution And Key Responsibilities
Provide professional, authoritative, and timely strategic advice to the Chief HR Officer, Director-General, Deputy Directors-General, and other senior management on issues of a complex and sensitive nature pertaining to human resources, employee grievances and discipline, industrial relations, enterprise bargaining, safety health and wellbeing. Establish and maintain effective relationships with relevant industrial unions, the Public Sector Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, and all internal stakeholders. Represent the department's interest with external service providers to ensure the provision of critical services to the department eg payroll. Continually assess stakeholder needs and preference and translate insights into actionable strategies that build effective partnerships with client groups and senior executives. Formulate and prepare submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature and negotiate recommendations at the executive level on strategies, policies and practices. Provide leadership and direction to the team by promoting and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Ensure effective management of human, financial and physical resources. Oversee the delivery of operational programs of work in Human Resources Partnerships, Data Systems, Industrial Relations, Workplace Health and Safety and Workforce Engagement - aligned to the department's strategic priorities.
