As the Business Manager and a policy, administrative and financial leader within the Queensland Virtual Academy (QVA) team, you will play a key role in leading and managing identified areas of service delivery and corporate support functions within the QVA — an educational institution delivering a statewide, cohesive approach to enhance student access to curriculum pathways and learning opportunities.
The Queensland Virtual Academy
is a virtual education service for students requiring a specific curriculum subject or learning program unavailable at their base school; enhances access to curriculum and learning opportunities for students regardless of where they live by leveraging digital and virtual learning; supports, connects and coordinates available teacher expertise and quality learning programs, and makes these accessible to more students across Queensland; promotes innovation in virtual learning and develops supporting resources and systems for schools and teachers to use in their own contexts.
About The Role
Your role will involve working with limited direction across tasks which may be of a complex or specific nature, encompassing a major area of office operations. Your responsibilities and demonstrated capabilities will include:
allocating and monitoring resources, reviewing operations to determine their effectiveness and contributing to the development of policy initiatives or corporate strategies; maintaining knowledge of financial program management techniques related to the activity or corporate goal of the work area; interpreting and/or applying legislation, regulations, instructions or other guideline material relating to the operations, policies or functions of the work area; leading the implementation of QVA leadership decisions by allocating and using resources in accordance with QVA goals; engaging with internal and external stakeholders and clients on behalf of the QVA, nurturing positive relationships including with schools.
As part of the QVA leadership team, including the Principal and Deputy Principals, you will contribute strategically and operationally to:
Culture, performance and impact
Make insightful decisions - make considered, ethical and courageous decisions based on insight into the broader context, and embed socially just practices in daily QVA life; Develop processes for performance measurement and quality assurance of QVA services; Set, model and monitor high standards of staff performance aligned to the QVA's vision and service-oriented approach to provide equity and excellence.
Communication and relationships
Foster high-quality collaboration, communication and information sharing to support the delivery of the QVA services; Engage effectively and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver the services of the QVA; Build strong and enduring relationships with schools and teachers in the delivery and management of QVA services.
Accountability
Drive accountability and outcomes - demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency; Demonstrate sound governance - maintains a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
