Description Legislative Expert
We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and proactive legislative expert to lead our legislation team.
The Policy and Legal Command is responsible for establishing effective organisation-wide legal strategies, frameworks and advice, reflective of wider Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) operational policy development and service requirements and strategic direction.
Position Status: Fixed Term Temporary

Job Description
The Legislation Group coordinates, develops and delivers QCS' legislative program to ensure QCS' operations are supported by a modern, best practice legislative framework. The group works across QCS, the Queensland government and with other jurisdictions to identify and assess potential opportunities for legislative reform, aligning to government priorities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system.
Provides strategic leadership and direction to the Legislation Group, ensuring effective delivery of legislative policy development. Lays out a culture of innovation across QCS through legislative policy reform. Leads research, analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of policy relating to corrective services legislation. Develops strategic partnerships with key stakeholders. Represents QCS in various forums and committees to advance its strategic interests. Prepares strategic advice for the Minister and QCS' executive officers. Maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements This role requires:
Demonstrated experience in leading a legislative policy function within a large and complex organisation. Extensive experience in developing and implementing legislative policy directions in a public sector organisation. Expert knowledge of relevant legislation and policy. High level analytical skills. Ability to strategically lead projects. Interpersonal and written communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
