Queanbeyan Work Placement Coordinator

Enterprise Plus is a dynamic regional not-for-profit organisation that delivers a comprehensive range of government funded business and educational services in the southern region of NSW.
We are seeking a facilitator to join our team and coordinate the delivery of the Work Placement program across the Capital region.
Enterprise Plus coordinates and manages work placements for students studying Vocational Education courses offered at schools in the Queanbeyan, Yass, Goulburn, and Snowy Mountains regions.
The successful applicant will work as part of our team to deliver a quality program using standardised procedures and resources.
The role will involve: Arranging work placements for students studying Vocational Education and Training (VET) Courses at Schools and TAFE as required.
Recruiting host businesses to provide quality workplace learning opportunities for students.
Visiting schools and working closely with teachers to ensure that students are appropriately prepared for their placements and that all work placements are monitored and evaluated.
Matching students to industry partners in consultation with teachers, in accordance with WHS, EEO and Child Protection legislative requirements.
Accurate record keeping and maintenance of the program database.
This role will require regular travel to schools and businesses according to the number of placements required at each location.
We are looking for someone who is well organised, can communicate effectively and persuasively with businesses, school staff, and local community members, and can engage well with young people.
Depending on the applicant, this position can be negotiated as full-time or part-time (30 hours).
The position includes a business laptop, a mobile phone and travel reimbursement.
Essential requirements of the position: Well-established local networks or demonstrable capability/ability to develop networks within local communities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills & organisational skills.
Exceptional coordination and administrative skills.
Well-developed IT skills – the ability to use a range of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to organise own work schedule, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working, as required, in a school environment.
Ability to hold a current Working with Children clearance and National Police Check.
Hold a current driver's licence.

Selection Criteria: Demonstrate a basic understanding of the education sector including the functioning and organisation of schools, and Vocational Education & Training (VET).
Demonstrate your ability to communicate and develop good working relationships with the business sector, local community, young people, and schools.
Demonstrate your persuasion, influencing and sales skills relevant to the recruitment of local businesses into the program.
Demonstrate your ability to work as part of a team.
Demonstrate your ability to adapt to change.
Demonstrate your ability to work with minimal supervision to set priorities and meet deadlines to achieve results.
Understanding of regional issues affecting young people and businesses.
