These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne's east.Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria's toughest traffic noise standards.About the roleWe are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance. This is your opportunity to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, ensuring EBTA governance, procurement, finance and commercial systems and delegations of authorities are implemented and effectively controlled.Key responsibilitiesSupport procurement activity in accordance with the requirements of the construction program.Ensure that all subcontractor claims received from contractors are certified & processed in line with timing requirements.Assist to ensure that commitments, cost to date, accruals, estimate to complete and risk & opportunity information are completed by cost code/control account owners.Identify trends in forecast costs and propose appropriate measures to remedy elements of the project where costs are not meeting budget.Work closely with key EBTA personnel to understand and assist in managing key risks and opportunities as they relate to Section delivery.About youBe RICS certified and have a working knowledge of bonds, guarantees, warranties, insurances, letters of intent and other common contractual mechanisms. You should be able to manage the recording and submission of claims in respect of delay and loss/expense and support in formulating detailed arguments in respect of such issues.We work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
