About PHE Mining:PHE Mining is a leading Industrial Electrical Contractor with over 50 years of experience in delivering large-scale projects across regional and remote areas of Australia. This role will be based at a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2 & 1 roster, 12-hour days.Role Overview:PHE Mining is seeking a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team on a fixed-term contract basis. This role involves analysing existing budgets, preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with contractors and vendors, and building relationships with key personnel on-site.Your Responsibilities:Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.Developing Weekly Reports and Quantity Manhour Reports.Conducting Project MTO vs Budget estimate analysis.Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts for fiscal management.Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documentation.Managing variations and change through effective change management.Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.Assisting with P6 schedule progress reporting.Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.About You:Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or a related field.Experience in construction estimating or cost controls or quantity surveying.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards.Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.Ability to organise, plan, and strategise effectively.Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying, including:Advanced Knowledge: Power BI, ExcelIntermediate Knowledge: P6 PrimaveraWhy Join Us?At PHE, you'll be part of a dynamic team contributing to major projects such as:Newcrest Mining - Cadia Valley OperationsOz Minerals – Carrapateena ProjectSnowy Hydro 2.0Tumut 3 Power Station Controls UpgradeImportant Information:You must have the right to live and work permanently in Australia to apply.
