The Eva Copper Mine is a significant greenfield project for Harmony in Northern Queensland located approximately 90km north-west of Cloncurry. The Project will be the largest mining operation in North West Queensland with a minimum mine life of 15 years, involving mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. The mine site will include development of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, power generation and an accommodation village.
Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execute Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in support of achieving near term 1st production and are seeking highly motivated and experienced people to join our growing project delivery and operations teams. The Execution Phase will begin July 2024 with commencement of front-end engineering and design, and in parallel preliminary site works will also be progressed in support of full project execution post final investment decision.
We currently have a vacancy for a Quantity Surveyor to join our project team in Brisbane Milton Office.
Responsibilities include:Develop a Site Quantity Survey process and procedure including Contractor Invoice Claim Review, Contractor Progress Validation, Contractor Performance management Reporting, site estimation and input into change management.Review of Contractor Timesheet, compare to gate data and attendance register and ensure it align to invoice claim.Examine all submitted invoices for accuracy and verify alignment with the contract terms regarding costs.Document any changes that may have occurred during the project.Conduct regular site inspections and validate all items installed.Utilize software, Drawing and Models to validate quantity installed.Attend weekly progress meetings with contractor.What you will bring to Harmony:A minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in a cost controller or similar role.Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, engineering, project management or related discipline.High levels of computer literacy including enterprise resource planning and reporting systems like Pronto, Bower BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Office suite.Prior experience working for a construction contractor in the mining/resources industry.Strong organisational, analytical, and writing skills and ability to meet deadlines.Self-disciplined and self-motivated with the ability to comprehend extensive construction operations and schedules.LocationThis role will be based at our Brisbane project office during the project design phase with regular travel to site as required. The role will be required to transition to site once constructions commence, with the option of DIDO from Cloncurry Area or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville. The DIDO/FIFO roster is 8 days on, 6 days off.
This is a maximum term role aligned with the project completion and close out, anticipated to be 31 December 2027.
