And we have everything we need to work flexibly.The teamThe QEP Investment Team consists of 28 members, located in London, Sydney, Hong Kong, and New York.
The QEP Team manages $27 bn across a range of global equity strategies, including dedicated EM strategies.The team is organised across three key functions :The portfolio management & research team is principally located in London with additional team members based in Sydney and Hong Kong.
Its members are responsible for researching new ideas, enhancing existing models, and making investment decisions.The portfolio implementation team is based in London and is responsible for day-to-day monitoring of client portfolios, implementing portfolio managers' investment decisions, and managing cashflows.Our dedicated product management team is located in London, Sydney, and New York and are specialists in all aspects of our investment process enabling the investment team to focus on research and the management of our client's assets.What you'll doContribute to the ongoing development and progress of QEP investment processSupport the team on investment data, including research and interpretation to recommend investable insights.Collaborate within the team and Schroders investment teams on value add projects.Key ResponsibilitiesContributing to the enhancement of investment processParticipate in quantitative research projects under the guidance of senior members of the team to identify and drive implementable insightsProduce and present well-considered research findings and proposals to better reflect risks and opportunities systematically in our investment processSupporting the team on investment research and dataAnalyse a broad range of data, including structured and unstructured data, and translate it into investment insights for use within our investment processManage and monitor investment data and impact, providing support to the rest of the investment team including portfolio managersCollaborationWork closely with quantitative researchers and portfolio managers to refine our existing investment and research processes in response to business and client needsBuild relationships and seek collaboration opportunities with other investment, distribution, product, trading, and technology teamsQEP Investment Team : Key Competencies :Direct and effective communicator who is diligent, persuasive, and credible in dealing with management and colleaguesAbility to work effectively both as part of a team and independentlyAbility to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environmentPlanning own workload, typically against a backdrop of changing priorities and or external events.Strong problem solving and analytical skills, anticipating potential issues and identify solutions rather than highlighting problemsSound judgement and decision-making abilitiesStrong attention to detailA curious mindset, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge baseTake a pro-active approach to highlighting and resolving process inefficienciesKeen focus on personal development with an openness to feedbackQEP Investment Team : Technical Skills & Qualifications :Higher education degree level, preferably in a numeric field and with past research experienceKnowledge of basic portfolio management theories and the asset management industryKnowledge of any programming language is preferred.
A willingness to learn basic programming in SQL is requiredThe knowledge, experience and qualifications you needStrong understanding of equity factors and modelling techniquesKnowledge of and ability to work with investment data at scaleKnowledge of statistical techniques to gain insights from dataAbility to design, modify and review technical calculations, preferably including optimisationWhat you'll be likeThe role holder shall ensure that all their responsibilities are performed to the highest levels of integrity, quality, and transparency and in a manner most likely to promote the success of the Schroders Group, taking into account the interests of key stakeholders including clients, employees, regulators, suppliers, and society as a whole.In discharging their responsibilities the individual shall establish appropriate oversight and control structures for all areas under their control where needed.Reporting ObligationsIn discharging their responsibilities the role holder shallEnsure that their manager is made aware of any issues which the post holder deems materialProvide to their manager, an annual assessment of their own performance against objectives agreed with themConduct RulesThis role is within an entity / or entities which are covered by the UK's Senior Manager and Certification Regime.
