This position is responsible for driving the Quality and Food Safety strategy, overseeing the implementation of the requirements, policies, procedures, programs and training components to reduce risks and ensure the safety of our products for customers and consumers.
This role leads and coaches a small team (talent management, performance management, capability building, process and systems) in order to achieve the required business outputs in the most efficient and effective manner. As the specialist partner to site, you will look to continuously improve Balter compliance and alignment to Asahi Group standards and quality management systems, with site team members owning the management of site based processes and practices.
It is a senior role running a team of motivated staff that delivers outstanding service to the Brewery, and the greater Asahi group by looking after the quality standards, safety and maintenance and training of all staff. Providing leadership, expertise and direction to the Quality team and to support the Senior Management team decisions, ensuring high integrity and compliance requirements.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain, in this role you will: Ensure Quality & Food Safety strategy is aligned to brewery strategy and collaboratively implemented across the brewery value chain. Lead integrated food safety management program to drive improvement in hygiene, microbiology, HACCP and GMP. Ensuring the sustainability of food safety practices to maintain and continuously improve site practices relating to HACCP. Provide support (risk assessments, data analysis, regulatory interpretations) for site on development and maintenance of the Food Safety Programs (HACCP Plans, validations, audit responses and corrective action). Manage the external Suppliers (cleaning contractors, chemical service supplier) and internal stakeholders (Brewing, Packaging, Engineering, etc) in relation to implementing and optimizing hygiene standards and work practices to prevent microbiological contamination within the brewery Participate in hygiene improvement meetings and plant wide initiatives, providing timely investigation of hygiene issues using relevant focused improvement technique Ensure risk management processes embedded within the site, by conducting risk assessments on quality and food safety issues (potential food safety hazards, HACCP deviations and recall situations) Trend, track, assess, and utilize consumer feedback (inquiries, compliments, questions, and complaints) to improve our internal manufacturing processes/programs which yield greater consumer satisfaction.   Who are you You are ready to make a difference in a highly successful company and to help others to succeed. You have a Bachelor degree in science with 7+ years' experience in food & beverage manufacturing, or demonstrated experience in the implementation and governance of quality management systems and food safety management. An IBD diploma or equivalent would be an advantage.
You often use problem solving and root cause analysis to develop an advanced statistical understanding to manage projects with conflicting priorities to deliver intended results.
