About the role: We are seeking a full-time Quality Manager to join our team at one of our sites across Australia. Covering the ANZ region, this role will lead quality assurance efforts, ensure compliance with AS/NZS ISO 9001 standards, drive continuous improvement, and oversee quality initiatives in steel equipment manufacturing and custom fabrication.
How will you contribute: Ensure compliance with the AS/NZS ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard and report on its performance to Senior Management for review and to drive continuous improvement of the management systems.Provide timely quality reports to the Senior Director of Operations APAC and Site Managers.Assist all Site Management Representatives for Safety and Quality in reviewing State Government Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice to ensure that changes are reflected in Company Policies, Procedures, and associated processes.Oversee the product manufacturing process to ensure quality.Ensure the quality management system meets business and certification needs by setting up a review mechanism to highlight critical concerns to the management team.Develop, implement, and manage KPIs to measure quality and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement.Provide technical assistance and training in quality techniques and services.Manage the QC Inspectors, providing them with tools, instructions, and guidance to maintain quality at the shop level, and ensure they are adequately trained and developed.Collaborate with management to identify and pursue opportunities for additional certifications.Lead quality initiatives to ensure that the Company achieves its goals.Assist the procurement department in selecting and evaluating suppliers.What you'll need to succeed: Proven experience as a Quality Manager or similar role, with qualifications and expertise in ISO9001 and advanced manufacturing QA concepts such as Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, and 5S.Background in manufacturing or high-risk environments, with a strong understanding of quality management systems.Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, Word, MS Project, SolidWorks, and ERP manufacturing software.Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with all levels of the business and manage cross-department interactions.Expertise in precision measuring tools, blueprint reading, calibration, and analytical problem-solving.Commitment to maintaining ISO9001 certification and ensuring quality standards compliance.Why Join Valmont?
