About the opportunity The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne's first dedicated busway.
These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne's east.
Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP.
Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria's toughest traffic noise standards.
The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.
About the role We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer for the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance in Melbourne.
This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key Responsibilities Assist engineering team with preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists and work packs to ensure quality requirements are captured. Verify that subcontractor/supplier documents conform to project specification/standard requirements. Actively monitor the project Corrective Actions and Non-conformance Registers to ensure timely close out and measure the effectiveness to preventive actions. Maintain up-to-date register of calibration certificates and ensure inspection, measuring and test equipment is within calibration or removed from use. Provide data as required to the Project Quality Lead for the monthly Quality Reports by the due date. Observe safe systems of work relevant to your work area and report potential hazards or near misses. About you Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or Construction Management with Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent Minimum of 5 years' of related technical experience within a project delivery environment. Technical knowledge to interpret drawings, specifications and quality records Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems Benefits We work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
