About the Opportunity The Quality Control Lead will support the Quality Department in providing world-class quality services for Nuclear Powered Submarine (NPS) construction within the SSN Build Program.
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Lead will assist in establishing quality assurance and control processes through an accredited Quality Management System, aligning with the program's prerequisites and overall strategy.
The role focuses on ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient systems of work are maintained throughout the team.
This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.
Responsibilities Support the development and execution of the SSN-AUKUS Quality Management strategy, aligning with ASC business strategy.
Set clear goals and drive results in conjunction with the Joint Partner Execute and align the Quality Management Strategy with ASC's strategy and ensure these are communicated and understood by the wider team.
Define and implement quality programs, ensuring governance arrangements empower teams while maintaining compliance.
Provide advice on supply chain frameworks and policies.
Communicate business strategy and goals to team members, manage to outcomes, and delegate responsibilities.
Provide tools for professional growth and foster a culture of recognition and innovation.
Identify and recommend process improvements within the department and assist in improving quality processes and technology for departmental and business efficiency.
About you Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
Proven experience with quality/certification systems in a shipyard, dockyard, or heavy engineering environment.
3-5 years' experience in quality management.
Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO9001, SubSafe).
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to balance conflicting priorities and deliver against customer requirements.
Proven experience in risk management and a champion of continuous improvement Excellent influential communication skills, coupled with a team focused attitude Demonstrate organizational and analytical skills and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
