Legeneering is currently in search of an experienced Quality Assurance/Control Inspector to support our production team in our Henderson facility. This is an exciting opportunity and involves ensuring products and services meet internal and external standards, are fabricated in accordance with client and company requirements, and reporting on compliance findings.
Duties and Responsibilities Overview Develop WPS and WPQR documentation for client and class society review and approval on client asset adhering to international welding standards such as AWS D1.1, ASME VIII / IX / B31.3 / ASME B31.8;Liaise with client and class society representative to demonstrate compliance to relevant specifications and standards;Coordinate WPQR tests (under class or client witness) with MMAW, FCAW/GMAW, and GTAW for plain carbon steels, austenitic stainless steel, duplex & super-duplex stainless steels, and copper-nickel alloy;Monitor WPQR and document WPS welding parameters during MMAW, FCAW/GMAW & GTAW using welding data loggers (MALII Arc Logger);Liaise with mechanical testing & NDT contractors of welder qualification and WPQR test coupons complying with welding standards, client and class society specifications;Perform Daily QA/QC Inspection activities to ensure compliance to relevant manufacturing standards;Prepare/forward NOI and coordinate client/third Party Inspection activities and obtain their sign off/approval on a progressive basis throughout the project;Review fabrication drawing and prepare traceability documentation including ITPs, weld maps & weld logs and liaise with workshop supervisor with the shop floor issuance;Maintain company welder traceability databases and records on welded workshop fabrications and on-site welding on client asset;Raise NDT /Hydro Request and coordinate with relevant sub-contractor to ensure compliance;Review completed NDT and Hydro reports and track welder proficiency including defective welds and the remediate repair solutions;Liaise with coordinators and advise of welding defect repair/excavation solutions and develop any welding related Red-Hot Work Scope of Work;Raise Non-Conformance and perform root-cause analysis including corrective/preventive action to close out the NCR;Prepare and Compile Project Manufacturers Data Report on a progressive basis and obtain client/third party sign off/approval accordingly.Position Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong knowledge and understanding of ISO 3834-2 Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials;Proficient experience in the comprehensive quality requirements of fusion welding to AS/NZS ISO 3834.2;Previous QA/QC inspection experience in subsea spools & offshore FPSO refurb fabrication work;High level supervisory skills;Strong analytical background with the ability to work under minimal direction/supervision;Strong interpersonal skills (proven ability to interact, develop and maintain a positive working relationship with personnel on all levels, both within and external to the company);Strong personal attributes, including resilience, initiative, judgment, and self-confidence;Proven capabilities in leading and working with teams;Proven capabilities in complex problem-solving;Work planning and scheduling;Operate in a safe manner with hand tools;Light to medium welding and fabricating skills;Ability to read and interpret drawings;Experience in training, mentoring, and delegating to team members;CSWIP 3.1 Certificate or higher;Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role;Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety, with safe work practices in a workshop;Own Calibrated Instruments for QC Inspection.How to Apply Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply.
