About the opportunity
The Quality Control Analyst will be assisting in the testing for Q-Fever Vaccine, Antivenoms and Other Non-Influenza Vaccine Products (Non-IVV), known as the Products of National Significance (PNS) and Non-IVV.
Duties Perform a range of procedures for PNS and other non-IVV products including Immunology, bio-chemistry and Virology and testing and bulk formulation of Reagent Red Blood Cells following approved proceduresHandling and monitoring small animals – preparation, reagents, dosing and testingSupport the team to ensure that the assays performed in each department are prepared and performed observing Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)Support the operational area to prevent invalid assays and reduce Out of Specification (OOS) test results, and help investigate OOS test results, invalid assaysRecommend and implement improvements (under guidance and discussion with Team Leader or Specialist) to enhance quality within each functional areaHelp with the accurate completion, maintenance and upkeep of quality records and documents including procedures and work instructionsHelp maintain the work environment compliance within GMP guidelines including the washing, disinfection, heat sterilization and decontamination of materials and equipment following relevant procedures Skills and Experience Degree in an scientific discipline, applied science or biological technology discipline or certification in animal technologyPrevious hands-on experience handling and monitoring small animals and knowledge of ethics and regulations will be well regardedExperience maintaining testing records and preparing assaysProficiency in computer systems for data entry and inquiry functionsExcellent scientific report writing skillsYou may be asked to undertake vaccinations for this roleCar and licence ideally Culture
