Quality & Compliance Officer (Water & Waste) May 24, 2024Come and work as a vital member of our Water and Waste group here at Mareeba Shire Council, located within an easy one-hour drive from Cairns offering a regional lifestyle with all its benefits in relatively close proximity to Cairns.The role:As our Quality & Compliance Officer (Water & Waste), you will provide coordination of drinking water quality, recycled water and referable dam safety management systems.This position also involves the provision of strategic and technical advice associated with planning and operation of drinking water, wastewater and recycled water networks and facilities to ensure the safe delivery of drinking water, wastewater and recycled water to the Mareeba Shire Council community.What we are looking for:You will have a thorough knowledge of environmental legislation, processes and risk assessment associated with water, wastewater and solid wasteYou will have detailed working knowledge of the principles and application of drinking water, referable dam safety and recycled water management systemsYou will understand legislation relevant to this position and possess high-level knowledge of water industry practices and processesYou will be highly organised and analytical, a good problem solver and be able to investigate and solve complex issuesYou will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills and digital literacy with the ability to utilise data bases and computer softwareYou will have the ability to prepare and deliver presentations in a variety of forumsWhat we can offer you:Permanent, full-time positionLGOA Level 6/1 – $93,220 per annumMareeba Allowance of $1,651 per annumUp to 12% employer superannuation contributionsWork/life balance – 19-day month5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loadingLifestyle benefits such as access to a Fitness PassportFor further information about this position contact Morris Hamill, Manager Water & Waste on 0407 675 907 during business hours only.Mareeba Shire Council is committed to the principles of Equal Opportunity and workplace diversity.
