About the Role This role focuses on maintaining and improving quality standards in the Fabrication and Finishing area through inspections, audits, and process monitoring.
You'll ensure products meet customer requirements, specifications, and safety standards while serving as the key quality representative on the shop floor.
Additionally, you'll play an active role in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall performance and efficiency.
Your Responsibilities Will Include: Conduct First Off/Last Off and periodic inspections to ensure products meet specified requirements.Perform random verifications of compliance with PCPs, SOPs, and work instructions.Support the Paint System process by documenting control measures and monitoring SPC parameters.Provide regular performance reports on paint processes and welding quality.Review and analyse defects, recommending corrective actions to maintain quality standards.Initiate and support corrective action plans to reduce trends in non-conformities and warranty claims.Work closely with production team leaders and quality engineers to resolve issues and optimize processes.Provide reports to the APQP Manager for PPAP submissions and ensure timely dimensional studies.About You Experience in quality assurance or auditing in manufacturing, ideally with welding and finishing processes.Skilled in product inspections, process audits, and conformance checks.Experience with First Off/Last Off inspections and metrology tools (e.g., height gauges, verniers).Ability to collaborate with production teams and quality engineers to meet standards.Strong knowledge of welding methods, symbols, and failure analysis.Proficient in reading engineering and manufacturing drawings.Understanding of paint and coating parameters, including salt spray, adhesion, and rub tests.Familiarity with PCPs, SOPs, and work instructions.Basic computer skills for reporting and data analysis.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on transparency and accountability.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Recruitment Process: During our recruitment process, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including a pre-employment medical, reference checks, and Australian working rights check.
