In alignment with the Myer Merchandise Strategy and Customer First Plan, as a Quality Assurance Team Leader, you will support and drive the delivery of the Quality Assurance (QA) and category strategy by providing technical advice and expertise in areas of: quality, fit, sourcing, compliance and trend. You will champion collaborative working with Category Buyers, Product Developers, Suppliers, MSAL Teams and all key stakeholders to optimise product quality, the production process and financial returns to the business.
Drive the delivery of the QA strategy, specifically within the Childrenswear CategoryBe the technical expert in areas of fit, quality, sourcing and safety complianceWork partly remotely and partly from our Support Office based in Docklands About the role: Manage the day-to-day operations of the team of Garment Technologists, ensuring workloads are assessed and balanced.Ensure all approved apparel products meet legal, safety, and company standard requirements, by making commercial judgments in relation to products.Provide and maintain detailed product specifications for Agents/Suppliers with clear instruction relating to fit/size, workmanship, quality and design details. Update and maintain detailed technical and performance standards for key stakeholders.Promote interdepartmental relationships internally and with stakeholders externally.Maintain effective communication with team members by ensuring they have relevant info to complete their roles effectively and support/lead change in introducing stronger brand focus across the QA Team.About you: In depth knowledge of fabrics, pattern making and garment constructionAt least 5 years experience in a Senior Technical role, preferrably within a large retail environmentChildrenswear Fit, Safety Assessment and Mandatory Standard Compliance experience Bachelors Degree in Textile Technology or equivalentBroad industry experience, knowledge of production & fabric trendsAbility to communicate with influence and collaborate respectfully at all levels, as well as building positive relationships with various stakeholdersAbility to drive a culture of high performance within teamsStrong Fitting skills and eye for detail, can apply knowledge outside scope of own roleAbility to remain calm and engaged under pressureExperience in developing and delivering product and brand initiativesBenefits to you: Generous Team Member discounts on all Myer productsWork flexibly from home and our Support Office based in DocklandsA supportive leadership teamVolunteer, parental and lifestyle leave availableService Recognition and Inspirational People Awards Ongoing training and development for your career progressionThe opportunity to be a part of and contribute to the Myer growth strategyHere, you're not only an employee.
