Quality Assurance Officer

About the role: The VPS4 Quality Assurance Officer reports to the Quality Manager within the Quality Unit of the Uniform and Equipment Branch. The Uniform and Equipment Branch are responsible for delivering fit for purpose uniform and equipment to the organisation to ensure members can effectively and safely perform their duties. The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for providing specialist technical advice, informing product specifications for procurement and the management of quality assurance processes with respect to uniform and equipment items. The role requires a sound understanding of quality management systems and actively manages the investigation of product quality related issues.

Your duties will include: Developing uniform and equipment technical specifications based on end user requirements, Researching and interpreting Australian and International Standards, Analysing test reports and product data to ensure products are compliant with the relevant Standards, Managing procurement evaluation activities and providing expert advice and oversight, Undertaking quality assurance tasks and managing the associated corrective actions, and Developing and maintaining quality assurance processes and procedures. As the successful applicant, you will have: Well-developed analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills with experience and ability to produce complex written reports. The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with the management of quality assurance systems Demonstrated experience developing and performing product evaluations. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Sound knowledge of the public sector procurement legislation, frameworks, policy and practice. A strong commitment to Operational Infrastructure Department's strategy goals - supporting our people and embracing customer centricity, innovation and collaboration in our delivery of services. Requirements and relevant information: One (1) x Full Time, Fixed Term position to 30/06/2025 available. This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
