As part of the Screening and Vetting Unit (SVU), the AO4 Quality Assurance Officer guides and mentors screening and vetting officers and critically analyses checking procedure to improve our processes to select suitable police recruit applicants, police staff members and contractors, as well as maintain the suitability of current police personnel.

The purpose of SVU is to deliver high quality screening and vetting practices that supports the Queensland Police Service's personnel security
measures, which ensure the suitability of police personnel to access Government resources. A suitable person possesses integrity and reliability and is not vulnerable to improper influence.
Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: • Analyse, assess and provide feedback to staff members on the quality of their communication with regarding screening and vetting applications.
• Manage and supervise the performance of, and provide guidance and identify training needs for staff members
• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of systems, policies and procedures that support the delivery of screening and vetting
• Contribute to the formulation of work unit strategies and schedules regarding systems and process improvements.
• Undertake client contacts as required within Security and Vetting Unit
• Undertake system administration of the computerised systems within your area of control and provide an effective service to staff and clients.
• Undertake project work autonomously and as a member of a team as required.
Role Requirements Mandatory • Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Baseline Vetting (see Other Information)
Other • Successful applicants may be required to undergo alcohol and/or other drug testing in accordance with Service policy and the Police Service Administration Act 1990.
• Short listed applicants may be required to undergo psychometric testing to evaluate the ability to deal with the emotional aspects of the role.
