We are looking for a person who:

The role will be based at our Brunswick and Rowville sites.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and coordinate product quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products. Ensure compliance with legislated and customer requirements, BRC and HACCP based quality control programs. Liaise with customers' Quality departments and any Local and National Food safety bodies. Maintain, review, and control all QA documentation. Be a site champion for quality to promote a food safety culture, ensuring product authenticity and integrity is maintained. Maintain and update a documented policy regarding the site's obligation to produce safe, legal, and authentic products. Develop a full description for each product or group of products which includes all relevant information on food safety. Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning quality defects, manufacturing problems, and product analysis. Suggest alternative methods and procedures from a food safety perspective about solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities. Cooperate with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and quality goals. Develop initial and subsequent modifications of the product assurance program. Evaluate reports from the product assurance program and confer with senior management to formulate the fiscal budget for the program. Conduct/participate in management meetings to establish, delineate, and review the product quality assurance program. Review quality problems and procedures in manufacturing, dispatch, and maintenance departments and recommend solutions. Visit and talk to representatives of ingredient suppliers to ensure compliance with the Approved Supplier Program. Consult with engineers and contractors regarding quality assurance of products and compliance with site standards. Review technical publications and stay abreast of developments in the industry. Manage subordinate supervisors/operators in the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and NPD areas. Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Qualifications / Skills: Bachelor's degree or higher qualification. At least 2 years related industry experience and expertise. HACCP training is a minimum. Internal Auditor qualification desirable. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Job Type: Full-time
