Workforce Australia for Individuals – Cressy TAS Full time About The Business Tasmanian Quality Meats Pty Ltd is a local Tasmanian abattoir that processes sheep, lamb, and calves for the Tasmanian farming community. Our operations include a slaughter floor, boning room, and offal collection rooms at our Cressy plant. We produce for the Australian market and also export products internationally.
About The Role Tasmanian Quality Meats is offering a full-time opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our friendly team. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for providing guidance to our experienced team on quality processes and systems in a meat processing establishment.
Key Responsibilities Maintaining and managing an approved arrangement. Manage reviews and audits with regulatory & accreditation organisations. Implement and monitor procedures to ensure compliance and provide appropriate corrective actions. Developing, maintaining and management of our HACCP systems and processes. Assessing and refining HACCP systems with a view to continuous improvement. Quality control and documentation around product specifications. Development and improvement of quality systems to ensure continual compliance with our quality standards. Animal Welfare monitoring and compliance. Working with production department on developing corrective actions & implementation of these to improve processes. Management reporting on quality assurance issues and results. Qualifications Qualifications In HACCP, Internal Auditing, Animal Welfare Relevant tertiary/food safety qualification or equivalent experience. Opportunity available for qualification/certification in some areas for the right candidate.
Skills And Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive and professional approach. Continuous improvement initiative and attitude. Demonstrated knowledge of meat processing facilities and standards required for Australian government departmental-approved guidelines. Advanced technical skills in recording and reporting data, and maintaining electronic QA systems. Leadership experience in developing, mentoring and managing a small team. To be successful in this position, you will be required to undergo a police check, a pre-employment medical examination, professional reference checks, possess valid working rights to live and work in Australia, hold a valid driver's license, and have access to transportation to and from work.
