Hume City Council EYM provides high quality educational programs across 34 services within the Hume municipality. We operate sessional kindergarten, long day and occasional care programs. The role of the Quality and Pedagogy Co-Ordinator is an essential leadership role to support and enhance the capacity of Hume Leadership teams to provide quality pedagogical support and coaching to centre based Educational Leaders, Early Childhood Teachers, and Educators.
What you'll be doing: Support the development of a strong understanding of reflective practice and build a culture of evidenced based practice within Hume Early Years Services.Work in partnership with other leadership roles to support their understandings of the significance of developing collaborative strategies to drive change and improvement.Provide mentoring and coaching direction that encourages professional growth, skills development, commitment, and continuous improvement across and within teams.Undertake and support the formal mentoring/induction and ongoing supervision process for new coaches or other quality related roles (SRF lead).Develop an annual calendar of professional learning opportunities and training for Early Years staff including supporting their capacity to enhance understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the pedagogical practice expectations of the National Quality Standard and the Hume Practice Guide.Contribute to Hume's organisational knowledge of Early Years by monitoring priorities and challenges that arise out of conferences, seminars, State and National Education Reforms and other factors impacting quality service delivery.Support the Department of Family, Youth and Children to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing high quality learning for children.Build and sustain positive relationships with other Coordinators, Regional Coordinators, and Team Leaders to establish a shared agenda for professional support and quality improvement within Hume.Maintain a current understanding of the complex nature of service delivery within Hume services and the broader sector and how this impacts quality.Create a culture of solution focused and proactive approaches to the improvement of quality practices for the delivery of Hume Early Years services.The skills and experience you'll bring to the role: Working knowledge of the relevant legislations pertaining to the field of Early Childhood including Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct.Working knowledge of, and ability to administer the Quality systems (such as National Quality Standards) and processes related to Assessment & Rating.Experience in School Readiness Funding planning, acquittals and goals.Demonstrated experience in contributing to policy development and designing and implementing systems, procedures and programs to influence quality.Highly developed written and oral communication skills.Strong knowledge of Child Safety Standards and contemporary pedagogical practice.Proven experience in the quality operation of early years' services with a demonstrated ability to motivate and support practice change.Required Certifications & Qualifications: Bachelor or Masters Degree in Early Childhood with several years' relevant experience.Why Hume City Council?
