Qualified Social Worker, Knowsley Council, Child Protection Shield TeamKnowsleyRef: EN105-215Division: Childrens ServicesSpecialist Area: Social WorkerLocation: KnowsleyJob type: ContractSalary (per hour): Negotiable dependent on experience and pay scheme selectedReference: EN105-215Job DescriptionQualified Social Worker, Knowsley Council, Child Protection Shield Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.The responsibilities will include:The Shield Team is a multi-agency team for children at risk of sexual and criminal exploitation, trafficking, and missing from home or care placed in and out of the borough.Conducting good quality front door screenings and assessments, child exploitation and missing assessments, developing clear and focused plans, and ensuring timely delivery of effective services to young people at risk of exploitation and missing and their parents.Completing some short interventions with children that are being exploited or are at risk of exploitation.Communicating effectively both verbally and in written form.Working in partnership with children, adolescents and their families and partner agencies.Handling complex and sensitive issues related to sexual and criminal exploitation.Demonstrating knowledge about adolescent development and contextual safeguarding.Working individually and as part of a multi-agency team.Maintaining comprehensive and up to date knowledge of statutory frameworks and local and national policy and guidance relating to safeguarding, missing and exploitation.Liaising with other professionals.Working 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).3 month Temporary Contract.Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.******************************************************************************************Successful candidates will benefit from:A Kindle Fire upon commencement of contract (see terms).A £20 Amazon voucher if registration is completed within 2 weeks (see terms).Competitive pay rates.Weekly payroll.Free access to a comprehensive online training portal worth £500 a year.Your own dedicated consultant with extensive social work knowledge.Receive up to £250 for each referred worker (see terms).******************************************************************************************The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.Please call the recruitment team where you will speak to one of our dedicated consultants on 0333 1234 530.
