About the Division / Team Our Hunter Valley network primarily services the Hunter Valley coal chain – the world's largest thermal coal export operation – by providing an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between mines and the Port of Newcastle. We manage the movement of around 250 trains per day on our network. Around half of these being coal trains and the other half comprised of passenger services, as well as grain, general intermodal, and other bulk freight trains. What you'll do... Be the signal master: Install, maintain, and repair critical signalling and communication equipment. Diagnose like a pro: Troubleshoot faults, identify the culprit, and get the trains rolling again. To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate: Essential Selection Criteria: Qualified Railway Signal Electrician Knowledge and ability to implement the principles of rail safety management, OHS principles and electrical codes of practice Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving signal and communication equipment faults in a rail environment Written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to apply quality systems including policies and procedures Customer service focus Drivers Licence – Class C ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment (EST-20-03).
