ABOUT THE ROLE With continued growth in our workshop, we're searching for our next suitably qualified and experienced Automotive Service / Diagnostic Technician to join our highly trained, experienced service workshop team. If you have diagnostic experience, or are keen to expand your automotive skills and train in diagnostics, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for! We're seeking someone who takes pride in the quality of their workmanship skills, reliability and efficiency, complemented with a 'can do' positive attitude.
This permanent full-time Monday to Friday role presents an exciting opportunity for the right applicant to come and work with one of Australia's most popular automotive brands, highly respected for its quality range of vehicles which contain the best safety, design and technological features.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful applicant will be primarily responsible for diagnosing, accurately and efficiently repairing and servicing vehicles within a timely manner, whilst delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction. They will also play a key role in mentoring less experienced technicians.
Using innovative technology, involving special tooling and diagnostic equipment, Launceston Toyota boasts a fully equipped workshop, an enjoyable work environment and ongoing manufacturer provided training and support.
We're looking for someone who has a passion for the industry, an eye for detail, is reliable, trustworthy and a strong team player who is willing to be rewarded in return for their hard work and loyalty.
KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Receiving customer vehicles, prioritising and completing job tasks within the specified timeframe Completing all necessary service, repair and warranty documentation, in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards Conducting all vehicle servicing, repairs and road tests in accordance with manufacturer requirements Maintaining all equipment, tools and work bays in accordance with safe work practices Taking all necessary precautions to prevent damage or loss to dealer and customer owned vehicles Participation in ongoing technical service and repairs training and development as required ABOUT YOU Qualified Automotive Mechanic, with a Trade Certificate, or nationally accredited training achieved through the Australian Apprenticeship system (ie 4 year apprenticeship) Relevant industry experience, preferably Dealership based Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, diagnostic and continuous improvement capabilities Ability to follow instructions and work well both unsupervised and as a strong team player A well developed, up-to-date knowledge of the automotive industry, its products, services and innovative technology Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize work schedules and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop with a strong focus on productivity, efficiency and safety Well-presented and professional, punctual and reliable, responsive and adaptive Hold a current unrestricted TAS Drivers Licence (motorcycle licence would be an advantage) Certification as a Toyota technician and/or accreditation in vehicle diagnostics and experience with working with one or more of the quality brand represented by the LM Group will be viewed favourably.
