Reports to Workshop ManagerKey Relationships Service ManagerWorkshop ManagerInternal teamPrimary Purpose The primary purpose of the Diesel Mechanic is to inspect, service, and repair Qube mobile machinery and ancillary equipment.
Specific Responsibilities Ensure a high level of productivity is maintained and an "on time in full" work ethic is adhered to at all timesPerform mechanical and other Workshop Duties as directed by the Workshop Supervisor Leading HandAssist in training and or supervise Apprentices as requiredEnsure the workplace is kept clean, all tools are put away on completion of the job and all workplace health and safety, environmental and quality management requirements are metPresent for work in a clean and tidy manner, and ensure clocking on and clocking off between all assigned tasks where applicableEnsure Work Orders are obtained before commencing work on equipmentEnsure that all parts required to complete the job are assessed and identified for ordering and they are available so unnecessary delays are not incurredUndertake through diagnose processes on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.Communicate with operators to understand and document faults, research & test to confirm & reportSafely & efficiently, strip, clean, inspect, replace, reassemble, test and confirm effective repairs and release assets back into service Accurately record fleet number, make, model and hours/Km's and book labour time and parts against the assetEnsure Slams are fully completed daily via the use of the Take 5 card. All personnel are required to carry a Slam booklet to ensure consistent use of the process. Where an SWI exists, the Slam is to be used to validate the procedure will effectively manage the hazards.Personal danger locks are to be affixed at all times whilst works are being carried out on ALL vehicles. Only at the completion of the work are Personal Danger Locks to be removed by the person who affixed the lockQube 7 Safety Keys and SWI Safe Working Instructions must be adhered to at all times.Obey road safety rules and all other site/s requirementsImmediately report any incident or accident to the Workshop SupervisorTake reasonable care for your own safety and health and the safety of others.Follow all safety and health instructions as specified during induction.Use personal protective clothing or equipment provided by the company when applicable and ensure other employees are complying with PPE requirements.Take good care and maintenance of company and client equipment.Report any situation at the workplace you believe could constitute a hazard to any person and you can't correct yourself.Report any injury or harm to health of which you are aware of that arises in the course of, or in connection with your work, however minor.Co-operate as necessary so the company is able to carry out its HSE obligations.Co-operate with the rehabilitation programme where required.In addition, Zero Harm reflects our belief that we operate in an environment where risks are managed, and work does not impact on our people's health and wellbeing.

Identify, assess and report all known and newly identified hazards and incidents in the workplace.Participate in the monitoring, review and evaluation of implemented risk controls.Stop work where there is an imminent danger and escalate to the appropriate supervisor/manager.Do not engage in bullying or harassment in the workplace.Engage in safe work practices.Treat fellow employees, contractors, clients and the public with respect.Do not cause pollution or harm to the environment.Follow the Safety, Health & Environmental System
Follow the requirements of the SHEMS documentation including Rules, Procedures and Instructions.Identify system shortcomings and opportunities for improvement.Be Prepared To Work Safely
Report to duty in a fit state, free from fatigue the influence of alcohol or other drugs.Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and operate plant equipment safely.Participate in consultation activities regarding matters affecting your health, safety and welfare.Participate in relevant HSE training and maintaining your HSE related competencies.Engage in work only when in possession of required and current Certificates of Competence.Do not engage in work activities where you do not have the appropriate training or qualification and ensure your Supervisor is aware you cannot confidently undertake the task safelyQualifications/Experience Required AUR31112 Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical TechnologyHeavy on road transport mechanic trade certificate - Fleet MaintenanceSound interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of peopleSound skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and Power pointAbility to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolutionSenior First Aid CertificateKnowledge and understanding of applicable Govt/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standardsA reasonable level of physical fitnessAttention to detail with good hand eye co-ordinationFlexible and adaptable with the ability to work effectively in a demanding environmentAbility to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolutionAdvertised: 04 Jun 2024 AUS Eastern Standard Time
