Qualified Cooks and Chefs Needed in North Ward Townsville QLD – Wtrade Pty Ltd (trading as Grandma's ) Located in the vibrant suburb of North Ward Townsville QLD , we are renowned for our authentic cuisine and dedication to excellence, delivering an exceptional dining experience.
We are looking for a fully qualified, skilled, and reliable Cooks and Chefs to join our team, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Cook: Prepares, seasons, and cooks food in dining or catering establishments.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Inspecting food quality Controlling temperatures of ovens, grills, and cooking equipment Preparing and cooking food, adding seasonings as required Portioning and plating food with gravies, sauces, and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled environments Preparing dishes for special dietary requirements Planning menus and estimating food requirements (if required) Training kitchen staff and apprentices (if required) Skills or Experience required: A relevant or equivalent qualification such as Cert III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management ·      At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
·      An ability to work a flexible roster, including nights, weekends, school and public holiday periods.
Chef: Chefs plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in dining and catering establishments.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: ·       Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering supplies ·       Monitoring dish quality throughout preparation and presentation stages ·       Communicating food preparation details with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waitstaff ·       Demonstrating techniques and providing guidance on cooking procedures ·       Preparing and cooking food ·       Enforcing hygiene regulations and ensuring compliance ·       Selecting and training staff (as needed) ·       Freezing and preserving foods (as required) Skills or Experience required: A relevant/equivalent qualification such as a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management or Diploma of Hospitality Management or higher education.
·      At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
·      An ability to work a flexible roster, including nights, weekends, school and public holiday periods.
Salary for Cooks and Chefs: The salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and/or experience.
This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week.
Salary range for Cook and Chef: $73,500 - $76,000 annually plus the applicable superannuation.
