Job Description About the Opportunity We are inviting enthusiastic individuals to join our operations team as Qualified Chef to work for our villages located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 2-3 hours inland from Mackay, QLD. What Civeo Can Offer You 5 Weeks annual leaveRostered Shifts of 10.5 hours including 30 min unpaid breakAnnual Staff Retention Incentive Bonus paid Quarterly *Conditions Apply.BYO Work Mate Referral Incentive Program *Conditions Apply.Access to Civeo's Employee Platform - The Civeo Hive - "Home of reward, recognition, wellness and exclusive staff discounts across hundreds of retailers".Food and accommodation provided at our Villages (for those not living locally to the Village). - Access to on-site recreational facilities including Gyms, Hub's, and Pools (may vary per Village).Access to wellbeing and employee programs including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and on-site Health & Lifestyle Coordinators, providing personal exercise plans and nutritional education.Exciting learning and development opportunities including internal training and development courses, and nationally recognised qualifications.Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook & present high-quality food & beverages to agreed menus and operating standards.Maintain safe and hygienic food preparation and storage areas, including proper storage of food, equipment, utensils and implements.Carry out daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, storage areas, deliveries, recording results and taking appropriate action if any fall below standard.Develop excellent product knowledge and advise guests and staff accordingly.Carry out work safely to company and statutory standards, including HACCP and ISO accreditations.Work harmoniously with the Kitchen team and other Village teams.Apply safe work practices to contribute to the safety culture at Civeo.About You Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery qualification (or equivalent) - International Qualifications must be Australian recognised & translated.Demonstrated relevant work experience, preferably in the commercial hospitality industry.Experience in remote work, high volume and fast paced kitchens.Competence in batch cooking across all service offerings.Strong communication, time management & organisational skills.A great team player with the ability to adapt and work well under pressure.Must be flexible to work across any shifts as required.A National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one.Pass a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing.Proof of Legal Rights to Work in Australia on an ongoing basis.Current Driver's Licence (highly regarded).Our successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment medical including Drug and Alcohol testing and willing to obtain a National Police Clearance.
