QLeave is seeking a Director Corporate Services to join our dynamic team in Brisbane's North.
If you are a Director of Corporate Services with a financial background, this may be the role for you. This temporary, full-time position (12 months) offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and strategic leader to oversee key corporate functions that directly impact the success of QLeave and its workers.
About QLeave
QLeave is a statutory body responsible for administering a portable long service leave scheme for eligible workers in the building and construction, contract cleaning, and community service industries. Our governance framework ensures accountability, compliance, and the protection of human rights, allowing eligible workers to receive the benefits they've earned.
About the Role
As the Director Corporate Services, you will have a vital executive leadership role, overseeing functions critical to QLeave's operations, including Finance and Investment Services; Governance, Risk, and Planning; Review and Assurance; and Legal Services. You will work closely with the Executive Director Corporate Operations and Program Delivery and the Leadership Team to enhance workforce capability and ensure operational efficiency and alignment with QLeave's strategic direction. Your role will ensure that these functions operate effectively and are aligned to support the schemes managed by QLeave equitably.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Lead and develop the Corporate Services team, fostering a high-performance culture. Provide financial oversight, managing budgets, revenue performance, and working with QLeave's actuarial service provider for financial modelling. Ensure the implementation of effective corporate governance, risk management, and quality management systems. Shape corporate strategies supporting QLeave's objectives, driving legal services, policy development, and governance. Build strong relationships with stakeholders across QLeave and the broader government sector. Identify emerging issues and manage complex matters on behalf of the General Manager. Provide strategic advice to the General Manager and the Board, contributing to organisational decisions. What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Leadership in corporate services functions and strategy development. Experience in financial management, risk management, and corporate services. Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage corporate risk and make strategic decisions. Expertise in legislative frameworks, policy development, and customer experience. A proven track record of achieving results and fostering a high-performance culture. Preferred Qualifications and Experience CPA or equivalent or Bachelor of Laws. Experience overseeing at least two of the critical functions mentioned above. Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) course completion (highly regarded).
